About Sinners Select Appalachian Provisions
Born of the Mountains

Hello folks,

Welcome to Sinners Select — a brand inspired by the resilient spirit of the Appalachian Mountains, a region shaped by faith, hard work, ingenuity, and just a little rebellion.

I was born and raised just north of Asheville, North Carolina on my family farm that grew and made nearly everything a family could need to live well. Today, I live on our family farm on the Cumberland Plateau in Tennessee. My roots — and my life — are in these mountains.

In these mountains, survival required skill. Families like mine farmed steep ground, preserved harvests for winter, kept bees, tended stills, and wasted nothing. Every recipe had a purpose. Every ingredient told a story.

Sinners Select exists to honor that legacy.

Honest Ingredients. Mountain Roots.

Sinners Select is built on the principles that defined Appalachian living:

  • Local sourcing whenever possible
  • Simple ingredients with real function
  • Small-batch authenticity
  • Seasonally inspired flavors
  • Respect for traditional methods

From raw wildflower honey to pantry staples and handcrafted provisions, our products celebrate the resourcefulness of mountain communities and the richness of American soil. We carefully source and select goods that reflect the flavors, craftsmanship, and practical wisdom of the region.

The Women Who Preserved the Mountains

Behind every well-stocked homestead pantry stood strong Appalachian women — masters of preservation, herbal craft, and practical kitchen wisdom. They canned, cured, sweetened, fermented, and infused, quietly sustaining entire households through harsh winters and lean years.

My grandmother was the very definition of a true mountain woman — quiet, strong, and loving God above all else. She made jellies and jams from her well-guarded strawberry and rhubarb patch, fruit trees, and bramble patches on the farm. There was nothing like sopping up the last of the crabapple jelly from the pot with one of her homemade soda biscuits.

I remember uncles, aunts, and cousins gathering with ladders and buckets to pick cherries from two massive cherry trees flanking my grandparents’ log house. We’d spend days canning beans, okra, tomatoes — all the vegetables the family grew. We made pickles out of just about anything. Granny taught us how to make teas, tinctures, and salves from the medicinal herbs she cultivated and harvested from the mountains. She made sure we all knew how to take the gifts God gives us and build a good life.

Sinners Select honors her legacy of resilience, resourcefulness, and quiet strength.

A Little Sweet. A Little Sinful.

The name Sinners Select nods to another mountain tradition — our faith.

Romans 3:21-25: 21 But now the righteousness of God has been manifested apart from the law, although the Law and the Prophets bear witness to it— 22 the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe. For there is no distinction: 23for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 and are justified by His grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, 25 whom God put forward as a sacrifice (propitiation) by His blood, to be received by faith. This was to show God's righteousness, because in His divine forbearance He had passed over former sins.

And it nods to our craftsmanship — which sometimes lived just beyond the letter of the law. Honey sweetened biscuits and tea… and occasionally something a little stronger.

It’s a reminder that Appalachian heritage holds both Sunday supper and Saturday night. A little sweetness. A little rebellion. Always authentic.

More Than Provisions — A Way of Life

Sinners Select isn’t nostalgia. It’s a commitment to:

  • Self-reliance
  • Seasonal flavor
  • Regional pride
  • American craftsmanship

We believe food should taste like where it comes from — and carry the story of the people who made it possible.

From our mountains to your table, thank you for being part of this journey.

With gratitude,
Cynthia
